Super Mario Mario is the iconic Italian plumber and main protagonist of Nintendo’s Super Mario franchise, created by Shigeru Miyamoto in 1981. Mario was created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and serves as the mascot of Nintendo. He first appeared in the arcade game Donkey Kong in 1981 under the names "Jumpman" and "Little Mario" before becoming the central character in Super Mario Bros.

8 Bit Super Mario Mario is portrayed as a heroic, silent, and straightforward character, known for his jumping and stomping abilities to defeat enemies. He can gain additional powers through items such as the Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Super Star. His adventures often involve rescuing Princess Peach from his arch-nemesis Bowser, though he also participates in racing, sports, and cooperative activities with his twin brother Luigi and friends like Yoshi and Toad.

The NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) and Famicom (Family Computer) were Nintendo’s 8‑bit home consoles, released in Japan in 1983 and in North America in 1985. They shared the same hardware architecture, so games made for one could be played on the other, though some had regional differences. Super Mario Bros. released on the Famicom in 1983 and NES in 1985. The NES version was a direct port with some graphical and sound refinements.

Mario in Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario Bros. 2 released in Japan on the Famicom in 1986 (as Super Mario Bros. 2: Super Mario USA in North America) and in North America in 1987. The Famicom version was a harder, more challenging remake. Super Mario Bros. 3 released on the Famicom in 1988 and NES in 1990, featuring the iconic “Super Mario Bros. 3” gameplay with the Super Mushroom and 100% completion mode. Mario Bros. the arcade game’s Famicom port came out in 1983, with differences from the arcade, such as Mario’s red hat, Luigi’s new color scheme, and altered sound effects.
